Biography
Formerly Lower Heathcote, Woolston was declared separate from the Heathcote Road Board with the election of the Woolston Town Board in 1882, following the Town Districts Act 1881.
The Woolston Town Board became the Woolston Borough Council in July 1893.
The Woolston Borough Council amalgamated with Christchurch City Council in 1921.
