Biography
In 2017 the Communities, Housing and Economic Development Committee becomes the Social, Community Development and Housing Committee.
This committee included:
Heritage protection;
Housing across the continuum of social, affordable and market housing, including innovative
housing solutions that will increase the supply of affordable housing
Libraries (including community volunteer libraries);
Museums;
Sports, recreation and leisure services and facilities;
Parks (sports, local, metropolitan and regional), gardens, cemeteries, open spaces and the public realm;
Community facilities and assets;
Public Health and health in all policies;
Community safety and crime prevention, including family violence;
Civil defence and rural fire management including disaster planning and local community;
resilience plans;
Community events, programmes and activities;
Community development and support, including grants and sponsorships;
Citizen services;
Community engagement and participation;
Civic and International Relations;
Communities of place, identity and interest.
