Scope and Contents
Photographs of children's home buildings and residents including Stanmore Road boys home; little Acre home on Huntsbury Hill; Methodist Children's Home on Harewood Road; Roydon Lodge on Yaldhurst Road; St Joseph's Home in Halswell; Hohepa Home School in Cashmere; Matthew Brodie House; Harry T. Adams Holiday Home for Crippled Children on Lonsdale Street in New Brighton; Temuka Salvation Army boys' home and an orphanage in Papatoetoe, Auckland.
Also includes images of New Zealand army members setting up an assault course for Kingslea Girls' and Stanmore Boys' Home pupils; St John of God pupils on a Mount Cook Airlines flight; staff from Barbadoes; plans for a new children's home on Ensor's Road; and a portrait of Pauline Scalia Childhelp Line coordinator.
