Arrangement
These records have been retained in a series together despite relating to a range of different Council functions. This decision was made in order to retain the early records of the Christchurch City Council together.
Despite the series title referring to the early records of the Council, some record sequences continue until 1982. The decision was made not to separate these out by date as they relate to those early functions that have continued over time.
