Scope and Contents

Papers of Mr Frank Haines, the Chauffeur of the Mayoral Daimler limousine for Christchurch City Council.

Includes a scrapbook compiled by Frank Haines which includes photographs, newspaper clippings and ephemera relating to his role as Chauffeur at Christchurch City Council as well as during the Xth Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974. The scrapbook follows his career ending in his retirement in 1998. A digital copy of this scrapbook is also available.

Digital recording of an interview between Frank Haines and Christchurch City Council Archivist Eva Sullivan and Don Robertson of the Document Management Team at Christchurch City Council on 4 July 2014. Frank discusses his career and experiences working as the Christchurch City Council Chauffeur. Part way through the recording, Frank's wife Kay Haines joins the interview. This interview took place during the online auction of the Daimler by Christchurch City Council so includes discussion around the progress of this.
