Biography

Started in 1966 by Enid and Don Ellis. Concentrated on early Aotearoa New Zealand art works with limited edition print runs. Well known for producing Cook’s Artists, a book of paintings and drawings produced by men travelling with Captain Cook. Capper Press ran in conjunction with Avon Fine Prints, printing unlimited editions of art works and facsimiles of early New Zealand books. The name changed in 1999 when Avon Fine Prints and Capper Press merged into New Zealand Fine Prints.
