Biography

Christchurch New Zealand and Christchurch, Dorset, United Kingdom became sister cities in 1972. The sister cities programme aims at developing and strengthening networks around the world, to promote cultural, environmental and economic wellbeing. The art prints in this collection were drawn by Benjamin Ferrey, born in Christchurch, Dorset on 1 April 1810, died in London, England, 22 August 1880. He was an English architect who became the mayor of Christchurch, Dorset.
