Biography

The Association was called the Christchurch North-East Residents' Association. On 6 Oct. 1952, it changed its name to the Mairehau Residents' Association. Neighbouring parts of Shirley and St. Albans were included in its concerns. The Association appears to have wound up in the early 1960s

The records of the Mairehau Residents' Association includes manuscript, typescript and printed correspondence; minutes; account books; annual reports; receipt books and other financial records; newsletters and correspondence. Also includes Christmas cards and a letter from Catherine Cookson in England to a Mrs Shaw.
