Biography

The sport of boxing in New Zealand was administered from 4th July 1902 to 6th May 1924 by the New Zealand Boxing Council, which was situated in Christchurch. The first Annual General Meeting of the New Zealand Boxing Association was held in Wellington on 11th August, 1924 at which the New Zealand Boxing Association was formed. The NZBA resolved to open branches throughout the country. The Christchurch Amateur Boxing Club was formed in April 1925.
