Biography

The Hillsborough Domain Board was established with the opening of the Hillsborough Domain in 1910. The land was bought via contributions from the Heathcote Road Board, Selwyn County Council and the Government. It was managed by the Heathcote Road Board. In 1939 the elected members of Heathcote County Council for the Hillsborough Riding were gazetted as being the Hillsborough Domain Board. In 1944 the Hillsborough Riding amalgamated with Christchurch City Council.
