Biography

The Mount Herbert County Council was established in 1902, and was created by the separation of the Port Victoria and Port Levy Road Districts from the Akaroa County Council (refer Akaroa Mail, 30 September, 1902). In 1989 Lyttelton Borough Council, Mt Herbert, Wairewa and Akaroa County Council merged to become Banks Peninsula District Council. In 2006 Banks Peninsula District Council then merged with Christchurch City Council.
