Biography

The Riccarton Road Board was established in 1864 with the Canterbury Provincial Road Board Ordinance 1863. It was one of 27 road districts in Canterbury. Riccarton Road Board was under the jurisdiction of Selwyn County Council until 1910.

In 1910, it became the Waimairi County Council, which in turn amalgamated with Christchurch City Council in 1989.
