Biography

Marshlands became a riding of the new Waimairi County in 1909 and met for the first time in 1910 in the former office of the Avon Road Board in Marshlands. The Marshland Domain Board was constituted in 1937 and was taken over by the Waimairi County Council in 1972. Waimairi County Council amalgamated with Christchurch City Council in 1989.
