Biography
The Shirley Papanui Community Board was formed in 1989 after the major local government reforms which saw Christchurch City Council amalgamating with Waimairi District Council, Heathcote County Council, part of Paparua District Council, Riccarton Borough Council and the Christchurch Drainage Board. The Shirley Papanui Community Board became the Papanui Innes Community Board in 2016 after the local elections and subsequent boundary changes saw the Shirley Ward became part of the Innes and Papanui Wards. In 2022 the Papanui Innes Community Board Community Board became the Waipapa Papanui Innes Central Community Board following the local elections, which also included the Central Ward, previously part of the Linwood Central Heathcote Community Board (2016-2022).
