Biography
The Property and Promotions Committee was formed in 1985 from the merging of the former Housing and Property Committee and some functions from the Airport and Electricity Committee and the Policy and Finance Committee. The new committee was responsible for corporate public relations and information services, tourist promotion, economic development, small business development and the Canterbury Development Corporation. The committee was also responsible for liaising with Christchurch Airport and the Municipal Electricity Board. This committee changed in 1989 following the amalgamation of smaller Council's into Christchurch City Council.
