Biography
The League, based in London, was founded in 1910 as Over-seas Club, an Empire society. In 1922 it began in its present form, with members in every Commonwealth country. Its main object is "to contribute to better relations between the peoples of the Commonwealth, especially between those in the U.K. and those living overseas." In 1995 the Christchurch branch closed and New Zealand Headquarters moved from Christchurch to Auckland.
