Biography

The New Zealand Gymnastic Association was formed in 1955/6, and was based in Wellington. The first president was Hungarian-born Andreas Pillich. National championships were held annually from 1958. The Association changed its name to GymSports New Zealand in 2006 and in 2017 to Gymnastics NZ. It is now based in Auckland and is responsible for the development, promotion, governance and leadership of gymnastics throughout New Zealand. Gymnastics includes both men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, aerobics and trampoline
