Family
Biography
Thomas Gee, a baker and pastrycook, arrived in Lyttelton with his wife Eleanor, née Trott, and their younger children, on the Sir George Pollock in 1851. In 1859 their eldest son, Thomas Major Gee, with his wife Rebecca née Mayston and their family, came out on the Zealandia. Thomas Major Gee was a schoolmaster, teaching at Christ's College, St. Luke's School, and his own private school, the Christchurch Academy.
