Biography
Charles John Beken, born September 1859 on the "Zealandia" to Thomas and Eleanor (nee Hurst) Beken. He married Frances Smart in 1882, and they had four children, Ellenor (1882), Albert (1884), Henry (1886) and Lucy (1891). Charles Beken was a photographer, a cabinet maker, and a pioneer cyclist. He died in December 1944.
