Biography
Albert Percy Godber was railway employee and amateur photographer. Born in Wellington. Son of Charles Godber and Mary Ann Scotchmer. Married Eleanora (Laura) Georgina Zinckgraf 1897; two children, Phyllis Mary and William Albert. Lived in Petone, Silverstream, and Dunedin. Worked in the Railways workshops, mostly at Petone. Photographed the Piha milling operation in 1915 and 1916. Interested in Maori ethnology, language and art; supported Maori missions; was a carver in his own right and had a home workshop for Maori carving.
