Biography

Born 1926, Geoff was awarded a Queen's Service Medal in 2017 for his services to conservation and mountaineering. Harrow was responsible for the rediscovery of the colony of endangered Hutton's Shearwaters in the Seaward Kaikoura Ranges in 1965. He had also accompanied Sir Edmund Hillary in the Himalayas, he took trips to Antarctica to provide specialist advice on snow and ice, and received life membership of the Canterbury Mountaineering Club.
