Mabel Irene Tarpey was born in 1903 and served in World War Two as a nurse in the Middle East, she later worked at the Nurses' Apartments within the hospital as a Ward Sister and Training Sister and later worked at St Andrews Manse Nurses' Home. Mabel died in 1973 aged 70.

Content Description
Material belonging to Mabel Tarpey during her time as a nurse in World War Two. The collection includes two bound volumes of letters home up to 1942, one diary from 1944, three photo albums, a Solders service book, a bag from Egypt which was used to hold her badges and other bits she picked up in Egypt, an Army issue sun bonnet, and other items.
