Biography
Henry Selfe Selfe, a London barrister, was a member of the Canterbury Association and, later, English agent for the Canterbury Provincial Council. He visited New Zealand in 1868 with Lord Lyttelton. His daughter Edith's son Bernard Matthews was classics master at Christ's College from 1912 until his early death in 1915.
