Biography
William Vincent came out to New Zealand in 1861. He worked on sheep stations until 1871 when he set up his brewing firm. He built the City Brewery in Colombo Street, now the old Malthouse, home of the Canterbury Children's Theatre. In 1889 he returned to sheep farming.
