Biography

Roy Millen served with the Canterbury Regiment in Egypt and in France. This brief diary was written while he was in the trenches in the front line near Armentières, not far from Ypres. In June he was injured and sent back to England. In 1919 he rejoined the Bank of New Zealand. He worked for the bank from 1906, throughout New Zealand. He was manager of various branches from 1929 until his retirement in 1950.
