Biography
Alma Watts was educated at Christchurch Girls' High School. In 1926 she entered the convent of the Sacred Name, Barbadoes Street, but the calling did not suit her. She worked at Aulsebrooks, spending some time in Christchurch Hospital in 1930. In 1932 she was admitted to Cashmere Sanatorium, suffering from tuberculosis. On 6 December 1933 Alma wrote to her mother for the last time, dying the next day, aged 25.
