Biography
The Council was committed to providing education and training to promote sound and happy family life as the essential basis of a good society, and had a particular focus on the welfare of children. It promoted effective communication and co-operation between member organizations in New Zealand. In 1998/99 the Executive, then with only older people on it, decided to wind up the organization. This was done in 2000.

The records of the Family Life Education Council includes minutes; correspondence; annual accounts; a Human Rights Commission information kit; publicity material including information leaflets on various family matters; reports; newspaper clippings; funding papers; mailing lists and papers relating to courses ran by the Council.
