Biography

Jean McIntyre (née Stanbury) was born in Akaroa on 4 July 1920. She enlisted in the NZWAAC (later NZWRAC) on 12 March 1943 and served until July 1970. She was selected to represent the NZWRAC at the Coronation in 1953. In 1970 she was awarded the Army's Meritorious Service Medal.

The papers of Jean McIntyre include photographs and brief biographical notes mostly relating to her time as a member of the NZWAAC with some relating to personal trips. The third album contains photographs and miscellaneous items about her trip to the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
