Biography
Margaret Bennett came out to New Zealand on the Blue Jacket in 1865, aged 22. In 1866 she married Henry Bennett who had come out on the Matoaka in 1861, aged about 24. Although they both came from County Armagh, Northern Ireland, they were not related (until their marriage). They settled at Templeton. Other members of Margaret's family, three brothers and a sister, also emigrated to Canterbury.
