Cynthia was born to Gordon Blair and Hannah Blair nee Leitch at Greymouth. She tought all over New Zealand and was a principal at St Margaret's College.

Cassettes containing oral histories, predominantly of women connected to Canterbury University. The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989. Most interviews are conducted by Stancey Yeabsley and were recorded between 1989 - 2009.
