Biography
Elizabeth was born to bicycle shop proprietor John Ward Archbold and Rosa Charlotte Mary Noyce. She was a school teacher and university lecturer who lived and worked in Hāwera, Ruatōria, Indonesia, China, Papua New Guinea, London and Birmingham. She married university lecturer Allan Cargo.

From the Collection:
Cassettes containing oral histories, predominantly of women connected to Canterbury University. The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989. Most interviews are conducted by Stancey Yeabsley and were recorded between 1989 - 2009.
