Biography
Avril was born to bank clerk Ralph Crosbie Stone and teacher Gladys nee McEwen at Christchurch. She was a teacher in New Zealand and the Chatham Islands, a silversmith and a Community Board Regional Councillor. In 1946 she married lecturer and management consultant Douglas William Ferguson Brown.

Scope and Contents
Cassettes containing oral histories, predominantly of women connected to Canterbury University. The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989.
