Biography

Mildred was born to musician and instrument repairer Frank Sargent Huggins and his wife, maiden name Dredge, at Island Bay, Wellington. She was a secondary teacher who was active in community affairs in Christchurch and the Coromandel as well as politics, and the Labour Party. In 1936 Mildred married engineer Walter Henry Scott.

Scope and Contents

Cassettes containing oral histories, predominantly of women connected to Canterbury University. The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989.
