Biography
Nettie was born to managing director of Paynter and Hamilton's Timber Co. Henry David Burt and Evelyn Ruth nee Pepper at Waikairi, North Canterbury. She was a tailor who married glass factory foreman and Town Hall caretaker Allan Byrne Wilson in 1945.

The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989.
