Abbenhuis, Henricus (Harry) Emile Geraldus Maria



Harry was born to export manager Martinus Johannes Abbenhuis and Gertruda nee Bevort. He was brought up in the Netherlands during the German occupation where he trained in a seminary to be a priest. He left to teach music, conduct choirs and immigrated to New Zealand. In 1971 Harry married chemical analyst and iridologist Jacintha Maria Van Den Broek.

Scope and Contents

Cassettes containing oral histories, predominantly of women connected to Canterbury University. The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989.
