Biography

Ruth was born to company secretary Albert Kemball Fyson and music teacher Clarice Christina nee Dickie at Hawrea. She was a teacher and councillor who joined Canada's 'Raging Grannies' peace movement. In 1957 Ruth married importer David Otterson Brown, they divorced in 1974.

Cassettes containing oral histories, predominantly of women connected to Canterbury University. The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989.
