Biography
Donald was born to company director Malcom Ward Beaven and Ethel Ruthven nee Greig at Christchurch. He was a doctor at Princess Margaret Hospital, involved in teaching and research around diabetes and set up of diabetes societies. In 1956 Donald married musician Teresa Margaret nee Fahey, they divorced and in 1994 he married librarian Gillian Mary nee Hobbs.

Scope and Contents
Cassettes containing oral histories, predominantly of women connected to Canterbury University. The initial project was set up by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women in 1989.
