Biography
Leslie George Hack was born in Riccarton in 1895. During World War I he was a sergeant with the 12th Nelson Unit, attached to the Canterbury Regiment. He was also a member of an outstanding New Zealand Army athletic team. The team comprised Leslie Hack, Jim O'Brien. J. McPherson, J. Ford (manager), Rodger Mason, Freddie Jono (masseur), Jack Lindsay and Claude Mexted.
