Biography
Dr Blackmore was Medical Superintendent of the Sanatorium from 1910 to December 1928. He had trained in Edinburgh, specialising in the treatment of tuberculosis, and had been Medical Officer of Health in Bombay before coming to Christchurch. He was an active member of St Augustine's Anglican Church, Cashmere, where a wall plaque remembers him. After his retirement he went to England and lived in Thames, near Oxford, until his death on 15 April 1947.
