Biography

Dudley Roberts Muff served with the 20th Battalion of the 4th Brigade of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force during World War II. He was captured by the Germans in Crete and spent the remainder of the war in in Stalag 383, a German prisoner of war camp near the Austrian Alps. After the war he worked as librarian for Lincoln University until retirement in 1966. He was an active member of the Returned Services Association.

Bound photocopy of manuscript of the World War II memories of Dudley Roberts Muff. This account is of daily life in Stalag 383, a German prisoner of war camp near the Austrian Alps, written for his 4 year old niece Alison in Timaru, New Zealand.
