The main successor series to Series 1. A classifiied file system containing central administration subject files covering all aspects of CPL's work and functions. Alpha-numeric subject based classification system adopted in conjunction with a commercial file cover and labelling product. There were initial attempts in the early 1990s to use a simple number system and that has been included in this series. File storage was not always centralised and sections sometimes created their own duplicate parts of the series which were stored offsite (eg Smith Street). These have also been treated here as part of the same series. The system seems to have petered out at some point in the early 2000s, presumably in response to the introduction of the Council's TRIM system, which will contain its successor series.
