An artificial series comprising unregistered records created or received by the suburban services section of Canterbury Public Library, whose work covered the various branch, community/ volunteer libraries administered by or supported by the central library, including the mobile library and the short-lived City Council service centre initiative. While the section's name underwent a number of changes during the period covered by these holdings, provenance has been attributed to SED - the Suburban Extension Department - for convenience. The records include 'current' correspondence files, as well as files containing historical information collected on each library by the SED librarian.
