Biographical / Historical
Henry Schofield emigrated to New Zealand in 1863 on the Mermaid. He stayed in Christchurch with the Earnshaw family, and worked on their farm and for other local farmers. By the end of this diary Henry is planning to go to the West Coast to try gold prospecting.
