The Canterbury Disaster Salvage Team was established in 1987 by Lynn Campbell after attending many fires in cultural institutions around the South Island. Their goal is to save and protect cultural heritage through prevention and teaching. The team provides training and advice for the care and maintenance of cultural heritage collection along with advice for emergency situations such as floods, fires, earthquakes, pests, and mould. They team is a collection of professionals from a variety of different fields in the cultural heritage sector in the Canterbury Region.
