Also includes an address of welcome of the visit of their majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand to the City of Christchurch and the Province of Canterbury New Zealand, 24 August 1962.

Biographical / Historical
Existence: 1862 - Present The first meeting of the Christchurch Municipal Council, established under a provincial ordinance, was held on 3 March 1862, later that year being renamed the Christchurch City Council. The CCC 2021 website states “The aim is to promote local democracy by making sure that everyone understands how their Council operates and how they can have their say.”
