The records of the Christchurch Co-Ordinating Council for the Handicapped include minutes; reports; correspondence; histories; guides and printer's blocks.
Included are typescript histories of the Council, 1960-1985 and a guide to Christchurch for the handicapped, editions 1-3, 1971-1979. It also contains the printer's blocks used in its production.

Biographical / Historical
Existence: 1961 - 1985 The Council was formed in 1961 "to support organisations in their efforts to help the handicapped and to assist in their rehabilitation". Originally called the Co-ordinating Council for the Handicapped, in 1968 it added Christchurch to its name. In 1985 it disbanded, as the Disabled Persons Assembly (N.Z.) established a Christchurch branch.
