World War I and World War II papers
Scope and Contents
Photocopies of postcards, a map, photographs, a menu card, ration books and other papers relating to World War I and World War II. Most of the postcards (1909-1918) are addressed to Miss Edith Knapman.
The menu is for a dinner (February 1918) of no. 4 Officers' Cadet Battalion, at Keble College, Oxford. The photographs, most of which are of nurses and soldiers, are undated (but clearly 1914-1918 War) and unlabelled. There are more postcards, of the same period; English, French, German and New Zealand.
The map is a German map of the Low Countries, St. Leger and environs, 1918. There is a 1928 list of commissioned officers who served in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, which includes the name of Randal B. Browne, Otago Regiment, 1914-1919.
The ration books are World War Two, and New Zealand. Some of them are issued to N. Howie, Mangere East.
