Henry Deal papers
Scope and Contents
The papers of Henry Deal includes Henry Deal's scrapbook, which contains press clippings, letters and other papers, many concerning Oamaru but also the rest of New Zealand and overseas.
Also includes Florence and Bertha Deal's theses on Oamaru and district. The Deal sister's M.A. theses for the University of New Zealand were published in 1929. Florence's covers the period to 1876, Bertha's the period 1876-1900. These are the manuscript originals, without maps or illustrations. An envelope with Florence's thesis contains sketches and text about the Māori cave paintings at Duntroon, and a list of the illustrations used in the thesis.
