Scope and Contents
The records cover the time period 1869 – 1884: Letter book 1869 –1874 Letter book 1874 – 1878 Letter book 1872 – 1884 Book three has a licence to fish for brown trout season 1887-1888. There are some illustrations consisting of sketches of equipment.

Biographical / Historical
The Association included in it’s aims the introduction and acclimatisation of plants and animals which were likely to be beneficial to the province Some species introduced into the area included bees, game birds, deer, rabbits, salmon and trout. In 1990 the Society changed its name to North Canterbury Fish and Game Council.
