Scope and Contents

Photocopy of original, and two typescript copies of the 1986 translation by Mavis Donnelly-Crequer of François Eleonore Narbey's Australian and New Zealand diary. This diary records a voyage to Australia to look for gold, his return to New Zealand and finally a return to Akaroa in April 1855. The last entry is for May 1856.

The translation includes some notes on the diary by Mavis Donnelly-Crequer, with notes by her. Diary includes the words of popular songs written down in 1855.
